What do dogs do on Christmas day?

A White Christmas

At this point all I can say is I'm thankful I don't live in Alaska :)

Christmas Eve Traditions?

I like tradition with elements of non-traditionality. Or maybe it's the other way around...I like non-traditionality with elements of tradition? Rita and I visited Portland's Peacock Lane for Christmas Eve, and topped the evening off with some thai food.

Snowbound

Do not leave boxers at home alone if they've been snowbound for 3 days. Disaster is inevitable.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow

I'm guessing there are 4 or 5 inches on the ground... the dogs LOVE it! Mostly, I'm just hoping for a day off of work :)

More doggieworld

Are they cute or what? I just can't get enough of them, so I hope you feel the same way :)

House updates

The house continues to come along... look at the new window treatments... boring for you, but fun for me :)

The world comes to my back door

You all know how much I LOVE to travel. When I can't be traveling though, what better way to connect with the world than to host international students. I've always wanted to do it and now I finally am. Having Yu-Chen (Rita) here has been so much fun. It offers me new perspectives on the world and reminds me about parts of American culture that I can sometimes take for granted.

Friendship

Creating friends as an adult has proved to be more difficult than I would have liked. It seems as if everyone is busy in what someone recently called "the Age of Busy". In an attempt to get as close to a Sex in the City episode as I'm ever going to get... Theo, Emily, and I have started a hiking club. Only bright, inspiring, beautiful women are allowed :) The following are from our latest hike to Opal Creek. Next month's adventure will include snowshoes.

Thanksgiving

I give thanks for family, friends, and peaceful moments by the sea!

I miss Mexico

So these pics are from last year...a trip to Mexico is a must for the year of Kelly though so know that in 2009 I'll make it down there at some point.

Doggieworld

These guys keep me so busy! Gypsy's favorite past time is chasing the hose. These pics are from back in the summer... wait til you see them hanging in the snow!

Grrrrrr........

Zoe, the queen! I miss fostering sometimes! Gotta save to buy my babies though :)

I refuse to buy a lawnmower

I'm not sure how I convinced myself that a full fledged garden would be easier to deal with than mowing the grass every week, but now that the project is started there's no turning back.
